Be Afraid! Be Very Afraid!!

I've seen quite a few adorable eyeball Halloween manicures lately. I thought I'd give it a go! The goal was to make it look like eyes were peaking at you out of the dark. :) The base color is Misa A Sin Worth Committing. I used a dotting tool with OPI Alpine Snow for the eyes. The irises are (l to r) pure ice wild thing, Diamond Cosm. don't teal my heart, barrym bright purple and sally hansen nasturitium.

Sephora by OPI Absinthe Makes The Heart

This color is cool! It's is very hard for me to explain this one. It's a smokey, muted green with a tons of tiny flakes of a blue-ish color and gold micro-glitter. The name is pretty funny. The name makes me think of Sylvester the Cat's speech. Or, how in grade school kids would hold their tongue and say 'apple.' Click on the picture to see it HUGE. :)

Mondrian Manicure! Time to brush up on Art History 101 :)

I love Mondrian. I decided to do a manicure inspired by his 1930 work Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow. I really love how this turned out!! I used OPI Alpine White, Thrill of Brazil and Dating a Royal. The yellow is Sally Hansen forsythia and the black is a striping polish.

Mondrian Tutorial For Lucy. :)

Here are the supplies. L-R: Sally Hansen Forsythia, OPI Dating a Royal, OPI Alpine Snow, OPI Thrill of Brazil and LA Colors Art Deco Black

1. Paint your canvas color.

2. Paint a swipe of color with your nail polishes brush. Square the corners with a small art brush.

Repeat step 2

Repeat step 2
3. Paint a vertical stripe to seperate colors
4. Paint the horizontal stripes that seperate blocks of color. DONE!

Dear Bloody Mary Part Two

After trying some of Dear Bloody Mary's nail polishes, I just had to go back and try the rest. I skipped only a few. They are $3.95 each so I didn't feel TOO bad making a mega haul. :) I ordered their hot sauce too! This order had the same great customer service and freebies. Hopefully, these swatches make it easier to order their colors if you want to. The site doesn't have clear pictures of each polish.

*on a side note* They sent me their mascara guard tool as a freebie. I love that little gizmo! It let's you put mascara on your bottom lashes without: 1. making a mess 2. looking like a clown.

This is their baby blue creme color. I am not a fan of pastels. This is the BEST baby blue! It isn't too pale and is opaque in two coats.

This is from the Goth nail polish line. This color is called Bordeaux Bliss. I really love the depth of this burgundy. It's not so vampy that it looks black and it's not so red that it looks like a holiday color. I love how the edges look darker. It is one of those 'lit from within' shades.

This is also from the Goth nail polish line. It is called Evening Sacrifice. This is a cool purpley vampy slightly frosty color. It is definitely purple and is not so vampy that it looks black. It reminds me of grape soda.
This color is also from the Goth line. The name is Graveyard Moss. This color was a surprise hit. In the bottle it didn't look this pretty. I really liked how it looked! I expected it to be sheer and usually sheer pale green is not flattering. This was the surprise of the bunch. I expected to hate it and ended up loving it.
This is the Goth line's color Midnight Melancholy. It is a bright frosty blue. I expected it to be a lot darker. I'm glad it was bright. It's a perfect summer pedi color.
This is the Goth line's color called Sepulchral Earth. It's a super pretty shimmery warm reddish brown. Perfect for fall! It reminds me of OPI Espresso Your Style but a bit lighter.
Moonlit Madness is a pretty standard sheer white.
HECK YEAH!! I went through a long, long phase where I would buy one bottle of red polish and use it until it was gone. I have a strong attraction to bright red cremes. I try to force myself to not wear them too often. This is the color Scarlet Sacrifice. Perfect red creme. Easy to apply, very retro and just a tiny touch trashy! :) Perfect!

Tagged!! :)

I was tagged by the super awesome kelliegonzo!! She is an amazing blogger and has the best personality. :) The music on her blog is so much fun! I often leave it up and playing after I've left the computer!

Here are the rules!

Here is a song that makes me smile. If you were a kid in the eighties you will crack up too! If you weren't, check out how GREAT TV used to be! Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling was an awesome show. It featured hilarious cheese ball skits and ladies in ridiculous outfits. The good ol' days... Jem and G.L.O.W made me who I am today...

Mickey's Trick or Treat Twisted Nail Art

Tonight, the family is going to Disneyland's California Adventure! It is so much fun. The whole park is decorated for Halloween. The kids can trick-or-treat and they wear their costumes! :) I decided to do a twisted Disney manicure. :)

This is rimmel Tequila Sunrise. It is a fun BRIGHT orange. I drew a Mickey eared Jack Skellington with a nail art brush and used striper nail art polish.

On this hand.... a dearly departed Mickey Mouse. :( Poor Mickey.

War Tapes Paint Is Absolutely AWESOME!

(Opi is swatched on top)

When you own as many nail lacquers as I do (I have three) it takes a lot to get me excited about new products. Well, I'm excited! I love music. I love nail polish. When you combine the two.... It's almost too much to bear!

I was searching etsy.com for new and interesting items. Of course, I have to search for nail polish! I found a band called War Tapes. They are not just selling the typical stickers and t-shirts to promote their music. They are also selling jewelry and NAIL POLISH!! This is the same nail polish as Diamond Cosmetics. Diamond Cosmetics sells their polishes without the label so you can add your own private label. The bottles are wrapped up so cute it was worth buying one just for the cuteness factor. :) War Tapes Paint is absolutely awesome (as is Diamond Cosmetics.) I love the vibe. I love the bow. I love that it is associated with music!

The colors are named after their songs. The one I ordered is named, "For Eternity." It is a gorgeous grey based HOLO!! It is even prettier than my beloved OPI My Private Jet (old holo version.) The bottles and polish are the same as Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm. The bow and label is what makes it War Tapes Paint.

A wonderful bonus... I LOVE their music! It feels like I put all the bands I love in a blender, added a new modern edge, hit puree and VOILA!

I highly recommend going to etsy and checking out their stuff! The jewelry is really cool. They send a personal note on the back of one of their stickers.

The polish is $5.oo plus $3.oo shipping. If you order from Diamond Cosmetics it is $2.oo and $4.90 for shipping. It is worth the extra $1.10 to buy one just for the fun factor! It is big 3 free and they do not test on animals.

Borghese Mini's Swatches Serena Pt 2 of 2

Here is the second set of borghese minis that I picked up at Rite Aid for $9.99. This set is called Serena. The colors do not have individual names. So, I will make some up!

*Sorry about the less that great pictures. The sun was playing peek-a-boo. *
This is a super pretty deep purple shimmer. I love purple and I LOVE this color. I will name this color Grimace after the purple Mcdonalds monster...
This is a multi-colored glitter in a clear base. Ummm.... Thanks? I feel like singing the Sesame Street song about one of these things not being like the others! :) It's a pretty glitter but it is just not doing anything for me. I will call this color.... I think I will leave it nameless! :)
This color is a LOT like OPI's Holiday Glow. The base color is similar. This one has more pronounced glitter and there are little red glitter unlike OPI. I think it's pretty but I have a personal issue with sparkles mixed with brown. It's tough to pull off! I'll name this color Sparkle Poo Log.

This is a VERY pretty duochrome! It is a lot like OPI Glacier Bay Blues. Except, this one doesn't have the sheer application. It flashes green, purple and has a deep smokey blue base. My pictures do not show how pretty this color is! I will be calling this color Hot Stuff!

Borghese Minis Swatches Allegra Pt 1 of 2

This is the Borghese Mini collection called Allegra. I found it at Rite Aid. It was $9.99. The bottles are a little bigger than an opi mini (4.3 ml compared to opi's 3.75) None of the mini colors had names.... So, I'm going to name them!! :)

*remember you can click any pic and make it SCARY big!*

This no name gold will be called "smudgin' gold." :) It is a gorgeous color that I smudged in the 30 seconds I had it on! It is a gold base polish with tons of gold glitter.
I'll name this one "silent but deadly." this is a super pretty sheer white. This would look great layered or as a french.
I will call this polish "ruby pumps it up." The clouds came out at this point and you really can't see how amazing this red glitter is. It gives China Glaze's Ruby Pumps a run for it's money!
This color will be called "Gothity doo da." It reminds me so much of Orly's Goth. But, with a TON more silver.

These are my first Borghese polishes. Even in mini size, these applied GREAT! The brush is curved but easy to use.

Franken Fun! Hunky Chunky and It's Muse

I was disturbed and slightly intrigued by lippman's funky chunky. I made what I thought it would have looked like. I FEEL like I should RANDOMLY capitalize WORDS when discussing LIPPMAN products. She did this on her blog in retaliation to the dissatisfaction with her lumpy black polish. I call it HUNKY chunky (I'm holding a cayenne pepper and chocolate bar if I keep eating these I will be chunky too) It is small hexagon black glitter in clear with a smidge of SW tar.

Hunky Chunky had a muse!! It is this wonderful skit. Very HUNKY and CHUNKY
