What I've Been Up To (Or Down To?)

Well. I've been pumping lots of iron! :) Stilleto's weightlifting posts really helped to motivate me! I've been really hitting it hard to finish up what I started long ago and get to my fitness goals!

Hey Stilleto! Get ready! I want to arm wrestle you. ;)

I've been going to the gym, doing (the dreaded) cardio and really cleaned up my diet. I'm down 10 lbs in two months and am really gaining strength. I lift heavy. I find it really tones me up fast! I have 10 more lbs and the scale will be were I want it to be. Although, I'm less worried about the number and more focused on my muscle-tone and health. :) I had an older lady ask me and my workout buddy if we were training to be on a football team! I guess we are doing "boy" exercises?? CLASSIC! I hit a plateau a few weeks back. They can be completely discouraging. I ended up switching things up an blasted through it! I started following Jillian Michael's "Making The Cut" program. I just needed somthing different. I'm shrinking fat (and growing muscles) again! Thanks Jillian!!
This manicure is a few days old. It's Sally Hansen Iced Coffee (2 coats) with black konad special polish. I like it!
Example of my food. Here is a mushrroom and fontina cheese omelet. YUM!
Bun-less 1/4 lber with CHEESE. Mmmm... CHEESE!!!

Godzilla Nail Art RUN!!

This manicure is making me smile. Even though it depicts a horrifying scene. A HUGE fire- breathing lizard chasing innocent civilians shouldn't make us smile! :) The base color is OPI Ogre the top blue. The Godzilla is BB Couture Poison Ivy (best green ever!) the fire is Orly poison apple and an old Sally Hansen Live Wire. Thank you Nouvelle Gamine for the inspiration (shown below!) If you haven't already, please check out her blog. :) CLICK HERE

Twilight Book Cover Art For PHD's Challenge

I just love Polish Hoarder Disorder's challenges! When I saw the book cover challenge I just had to make time for it. I figured Twilight would be fun. :) I used Maybelline Colorama Black Magic, OPI Thrill of Brazil and Sally Hansen Iced Coffee.

1970's Owl Nails

I guess I was in a seventies kind of mood. I sat on my shag carpet and painted by the light of my lava lamp. Harvest gold... Avocado... Hey mom (or anyone else that remembers everything) what was the seventies red-orange called??? :) This is a fun manicure! I keep wanting to make the bow chica bow wow sound.

Brown: Barielle Make it a Latte
Harvest Gold: Sally Hansen Forsythia
Avocado Greeen: BB Couture Iced Olive
Red-orande: Sally Hansen Nasturtium

I finished my entry for PHD's challenge. I can't wait to share it with you on Saturday!!! :)

New Sally Hansen Sea And Be Seen Swatches

I'm typing this with my super cool nail art for Saturday's challenge over at polish hoarder disorder's blog. I still can't wait to share it with you. :) So, since I don't want to ruin the challenge, I'll share a vault picture. This is the gorgeous Sea And Be Seen from the same collection as Hidden Treasure. This color goes from periwinkle to lilac. This was two coats with no top coat. It is so pretty! I love the big brush. I really think Miss Sally has stepped up to the plate with her new colors!

Sally Hansen Gray By Gray Fits My Gray Mood!

I'm feeding myself a steady diet of The Smiths, The Jam, New Order and Morrissey. When I'm in a poopy mood, something about over the top dramatic music makes me feel better! I especially LOVE Morrissey and find his music humorous. :) I took my "happy camper" pills and feel a bit better! Don't know if they really work or if it's the bottle alone that makes me smile!

Today's take number two manicure is Sally Hansen Gray By Gray. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! This is two coats with poshe on top. "Everyday is like sunday. Everyday is cloudy and gray (by gray.)" ;)
This was my first manicure today. FAIL :) I didn't want to leave this one on. It's Essie VIP with my funky chunky franken on top. The black glitter just didn't show up. It looked like dead fleas stuck to my polish.

Musical Manicure Madness!

Can you guess what awesome band inspired today's manicure?? I'll give you a hint. They have a new album out called Raditude that is only $3.99 on Amazon.. It's WEEZER! :)

Above is the mani after I added the little Weezer insignia. :) Each nail was inspired by a different Weezer album. L-R The Green Album (pure ice wild thing,) Make Believe (colorama black,) The Blue Album (random sally hansen franken) and The Red Album (OPI thrill of brazil.)

Here is it without the W's.

Mondrian Manicure! Time to brush up on Art History 101 :)

I love Mondrian. I decided to do a manicure inspired by his 1930 work Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow. I really love how this turned out!! I used OPI Alpine White, Thrill of Brazil and Dating a Royal. The yellow is Sally Hansen forsythia and the black is a striping polish.

Viva La Vespa Two Ways

Don't worry. I have two bottles of this color. The prize bottle is brand spanking new!

This is straight up Essie Viva La Vespa. It speaks for itself!
I didn't want to completely re-do my mani last night. Konads are the BEST for freshening up an existing color! I used Sally Hansen Chrome Nail Makeup in Royal Purple. I double stamped since konad doesn't make stamps for longer nails. :) I used konad plate M64.

Bears, Beet Stain, Battlestar Gallactica

With a name like Beet Stain, I can't stop thinking about good ol' Dwight Schrute! He would say that this nail polish is unnecessary. One can simply rub Beets into one's nails for a lovely "Beet Stain." I'll go with the Sally Hansen.

This is a very nice new color from the Tracy Reese Sally Hansen Pro line. This is two coats of Beet Stain with konad black polish and China Glaze QT "ghost" flowers using a M51 konad plate.

Here is the konad 'ghost' flower up close. It only shows up in the sun!
