Mondrian Manicure! Time to brush up on Art History 101 :)

I love Mondrian. I decided to do a manicure inspired by his 1930 work Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow. I really love how this turned out!! I used OPI Alpine White, Thrill of Brazil and Dating a Royal. The yellow is Sally Hansen forsythia and the black is a striping polish.

Oh my gosh Liz, this is seriously amazing! I could tell instantly that the inspiration for your mani came from Composition :D great job!

Oh wow! That looks amazing! I don't think I'd ever be able to get it as neat as that.
Love it.

Thank you so much! I'm so surprised how well it translated. :)

Glittermillie: Just don't ask to see my right hand! Definitely not as neat! I really love art stripe polishes. I used a size 0 art brush to define the squares edges.

How did you do this? It's gorgeous and I would love a tutorial. I love that a great art work inspired your nails. How about a Toulouse Latrec?! Just kidding. He's my favorite artist.

I love this - so different!

I am kind of clueless about art, but this instantly brought to mind a CD cover, I just can't remember what album!

So, this was bugging me, and I knew it would keep bugging me until I figured it out, so I paged through my Cover Flow on my iPod until I found the album =) Young Modern by Silverchair, you can see the cover HERE =)

Mondrian's work really lends itself nicely to nail art. You did a very professional job in the interpretation. Wonderful!

Colette: Thanks! :) I'm like that too. It bugs me when I can't remember where I've seen something!
