As evident by my very sparse posts, I'm in a bit of a dry spell! The whooping cough I had, back to school and last minute family trips really took a toll on me! I know my wonderful e-friends don't mind. :)
I finally found some inspiration in an antique store a few weeks ago. There was this beautiful black coffee pot painted with bright flowers. I didn't snap a pic of it because it was RIGHT in front of the store employee. This picture is from wikipedia. I've always loved little Russian lacquer boxes. I love the way the flowers pop against the black background.
So, I attempted to capture the feel of this beautiful art in my manicure. I'm not 100% thrilled with the way it turned out. I think I'm rusty!! :)
I'm still getting used to my new camera. I need to fiddle with it more. Sorry if the picture isn't great. Not that mine were ever museum quality!

You captured the essence of the box perfectly!! As soon as I saw it, I thought of Russian nesting dolls.
